ABOUT THE ARTIST
Teddy Hart – Aaktaatseen
Accomplished Northwest Coast artist, educator, and craftsman Teddy Hart – Aaktaatseen is Raven Frog (Kiks.ádi) Tlingit and a grandchild of the Jilkaat Thunderbird from Klukwan. Specializing in formline, woodworking, metalsmithing, canoe journeying, and traditional paddle carving, Teddy began his artistic path in 2015 by carving his first cedar paddle for a canoe journey, mentored by master carver Wayne Price. In 2022, he expanded into silversmithing, incorporating traditional Tlingit formline designs into finely crafted earrings, pendants, and bracelets. Each piece he creates reflects a deep respect for cultural heritage and a pursuit of artistic excellence. Dedicated to preserving and sharing Indigenous art forms, Teddy leads workshops, manages projects, and supports his community—blending cultural tradition with hands-on craftsmanship to bridge past and present in every creation.
Jewelry Collection
Inspired by the rich traditions of the Northwest Coast, my jewelry is more than just adornment—it’s a connection to culture, nature, and storytelling. Each piece is crafted with care, using copper and silver to bring traditional formline designs to life. From bracelets that echo the movement of water to pendants that carry ancient symbolism, my collection celebrates heritage with contemporary elegance.
Bracelets
Handcrafted copper and silver bracelets, adorned with traditional formline engravings, celebrate the movement of water, the power of animals, and the stories of the land. Every curve and line is shaped with intention, creating a timeless piece that carries meaning.
Earrings
Elegant yet bold, my earrings capture the essence of Northwest Coast artistry. From simple hammered designs to intricate engraved patterns, these pieces embody both strength and beauty.
Pendants
Each pendant is a wearable story—an homage to the traditions of the past and a statement for the present. Using copper and silver, I craft designs inspired by nature, mythology, and cultural symbolism.
